Overall Purpose of the Job

To assist Instrument Engineer to maintain the CSS Controls (ESD, Fire & Gas, and PCS) and Wellheads control system in good working condition, hence, to achieve Plant’s Smooth Operation. Assist Instrument Engineer in long term planning and day to day planning and scheduling of maintenance works. To ensure moral motivation of Colleagues to achieve optimum performance in the field related work. Ensure the compliance of company safety policy and contribute in eliminating and reducing risk involved in the jobs.

Principal Accountabilities

•  Ensure safe working condition of ESD System. (Emergency Shutdown System)

•  Responsible to check health of ESD related controllers, I/O and communication cards on regular basis and perform corrective actions accordingly.

•  Verify the critical Pressure/Temperature/Flow related instruments and associated logic to prevent any tripping due to wrong software configuration.

•  Ensure safe working condition of F&G System. (Fire and Gas System)

•  Responsible to check health of F&G related controllers, I/O and communication cards on regular basis and perform corrective actions accordingly.

•  Responsible to ensure the health of IR Flame detectors, Gas detectors and Line Of Sight gas detectors installed in the plant, and to take quick action if any of these detectors show error or alarm to establish the plant safety.

•  Ensure safe working conditions of DCS (Control and Safety System)

•  Responsible to check health of PCS related controllers, I/O and communication cards on regular basis and perform corrective actions accordingly.

•  Responsible to update the set point changes of field instruments.

•  To ensure that serial link communication from UCP’s to the DCS remain healthy.

•  Responsible to rectify any Serial Link Interface problem between DCS and associated equipment

•  To troubleshoot and rectify the communication related issues of DCS controllers in coordination with Instrument Engineer.

•  Responsible to change or modified any graphic screen

•  To modify or change any description or data on the DCS faceplates.  

•  To ensure that Fiber Optic communication link between all the wellheads remain healthy 

•  To ensure bypass or inhibition of securities before any maintenance activity

•  To ensure the availability of all software and images backup of wellhead related software

•  Self-development on PPA (Process Portal A) using on front hand of DCS

•  Hirschmann Ethernet Switches

•  Visual Basics 6.0 using on back hand to develop graphic

•  Application Builder including On-Line Builder, to change or modify any data online.

•  Function Chart Builder, to make new logic or modified any existing logic

•  Wellhead control Builder Software

Candidate Profile

•  Experienced Control Systems Engineer having hands-on experience on DCS, SIS & FGS with expertise on ABB 800XA Systems.

•  Understanding of Major Instrumentation being Used and Clarity on the Working Principle

•  Conversant with Functional Requirement Specifications, P&IDs, C&Es, Drawings, Narratives, Philosophies etc

•  Software Designing & Implementation are mandatory.

•  Minimum 5+ years of work experience in Industrial Automation & Controls ABB DCS or equivalent systems.

•  Hands-on Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must have Effective Written/Verbal Communication Skills
