Overall Purpose of the Job
• Perform 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and mapping to identify prospects suitable for exploration and appraisal, in line with the department’s annual plan and under the direction of the Team Lead or Exploration Manager.
• Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of operated and non-operated G&G activities.
• Assist the Team Lead in evaluating and supporting new business opportunities.
Principal Accountabilities
• Interpret geophysical data to enhance the understanding of petroleum systems across diverse geological settings.
• Identify and evaluate new plays and prospects using advanced seismic interpretation techniques.
• Apply seismic analytical methods, such as waveform analysis and AVO, to predict lithologies and fluid content.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of seismic data acquisition and (re)processing efforts in collaboration with relevant E&P teams.
• Utilize sequence stratigraphy frameworks to develop meaningful stratigraphic models from 3D seismic data.
• Provide technical support during exploration and appraisal drilling operations to guide real-time decision-making.
• Evaluate exploration projects, including volumetric estimation and risk assessment.
• Ensure clear and effective communication with management, partners, and regulatory authorities through timely reporting and presentations.
Candidate Profile
• B.S./M.S. in Geophysics or related discipline.
• More than 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including exposure to a variety of geological and tectonic settings.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in seismic interpretation.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software like DSG, Petrel etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
